August 2003
Elvis is in the August 2003 Issue of
International Figure Skating Magazine
(Volume 9 Issue 3) as one of IFS' 25 Most
Influential Names in Figure Skating. Elvis was
chosen as one of the most influential people in
skating this year for a number of reasons. These
reasons were, being the co-producer and star of
the SK8 With Elvis Tour and bringing a new
innovative look to skating, using his celebrity to
promote good causes such as 'Think First' ,
bringing a new outlook to commentary for
TSN/CTV, and for returning to competitive
skating.
There is a half page feature on Elvis
which includes a picture and a brief article that
talks about Elvis' year.
September 2003 Elvis
sadly announced his return to retirement.
It was reported that he had been suffering from
illness although it was not the official reason
given for Elvis' decision to not compete in
amateur competition, no official reason was
given. Elvis has stated that he plans to continue
skating as a professional and make himself
available to advice and assist up and coming
skaters as well as those that are currently a part
of the national team.
That's it for now! More to come as soon as I hear
any more news.
